What does Fairly Traded mean?

Fairy Traded Argan oil? It means that the sale of the Moroccan Argan oil goes to benefit the women of the co-ops that produce this amazing organic skin care product. The profits from the sale will, go to fund social improvements in a part of the world where women do not usually make much money. It will got to fund education, living improvements, and employment for a part of the world where women have been living in poverty for years. I'm happy to see the women of Morocco doing good for themselves. The men will probably start seeking employment form these women co-ops, if they are not already.

Why You Should Use Pure Argan Oil

Many Argan oil companies out there, are making skin care products supposively using Argan oil in them as the active ingredient. How can they call Argan oil the active ingredient, when such a small percentage is used in these supposed Argan oil skin care products. To dilute this rare and organic oil with anything is a shame in my opinion. You're not getting the full effect by using a small percentage of the Argan oil. We believe in giving our customers the optimum effect for the money they spend on our skin care products here at Eden Allure.

Why We Deodorize our Argan oil

Moroccan Argan oil has a natural "nutty" odor to it. There are a few people that don't mind this smell, but a majority of people do. We deodorize our Argan oil, to keep the majority of our customers happy. There are a few scents that people like for their skin care products . A strong, overbearing "nutty" odor is not one of them. Any reputable Argan oil company will deodorize their Argan oil . To get an idea of what customers think of non-deodorized Argan oil products just got to Amazon to see some of the reviews. It costs us more, but that cost is more than worth it to keep our customers happy.

How the Moroccan Women Benefit

Here at Eden we will be only purchasing fairly-traded Moroccan Argan oil . Fairly traded means that the sales of the Argan oil will go to directly benefit the women in that area. This is a male-dominated society, and the fact that this multi-million dollar business is controlled by the women is amazing. The profits go to benefit social improvements such as living standards, employment, and education. All our Moroccan Argan oil is purchased directly from these women's cooperatives to make sure they are getting the funding they justly deserve. With the Argan oil business growing bigger by the minute, I see some great changes happening for the women of Morocco.

How It All Started

The growth in popularity of Moroccan Argan oil all started in Europe. Models from France would go down to Morocco for photo shoots. While down there, they discovered the multiple cosmetic benefits that Argan oil had. There had been a large North African population living in France that had brought Argan oil with them, but it really didn't start to catch on until women in the beauty industry noticed it. Some of the women didn't like the natural "nutty" odor of the Argan oil, so companies in France began to deodorize it. Beauty Products containing Argan oil , and pure
deodorized Argan oil , are now found in a majority of your high-end salons across Europe. It seems whatever the rich and famous deem to be a great beauty product , usually catches on.

The Berber People of Morocco

The Berber people of Morocco are an interesting ethnic group indeed. They are a combination of all three of the major religions Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. Despite all these different religions, they have managed to live in peace for hundreds of years. My grandfather was Berber, and I remember going back to his tribal village to witness some of their spiritual rituals. It was very interesting indeed. Unfortunately, the Berber language is not officially recognized in Morocco, despite the large population of Moroccans who have Berber blood.
They have always been viewed as outsiders for their different ritual practices; in Morocco and Israel as well. Lately, they have been assimilating themselves into modern society in both countries.Without the Berber people, we would not have Moroccan Argan oil . It was the Berber people who originally discovered the amazing potential in Argan oil . The late growing demand for Moroccan Argan oil has helped spur the Berber economy. It's kind of hard to tell if anybody has pure Berber blood anymore . The Berbers in Morocco have been mixing with the Arabs for hundreds of years, and the Berbers of Israel have been mixing with the local population there as well. This once great culture, may eventually just be another page in history.

Our Natural Ingredients

Most people are unaware of the many beneficial qualities that natural oils have. We have been taught at a young age that oils are bad for you skin, but this is not true at all. We only use the finest natural oils in all our beauty products . Besides the Argan oil ( of course) one of my favorite natural oils is Jojoba . Jojoba oil is known to be great for moisturizing the skin. Jojoba oil also possesses many anti-aging properties as well. Another one of my all-time favorites has to be Ylang Ylang oil . Ylang Ylang oil is great for treating ailments and other problems. It is commonly used to boost sensuality and is commonly known as an aphrodisiac . Besides Argan oil and Jojoba oil , Apricot oil is one of the most useful oils for your skin. Apricot oil is high in Vitamin A and Vitamin E . This great natural oil is soothing for sensitive and dry skin. It helps maintain a healthy natural balance. I like to eat it, and apply it for my skin use as well. Coconut oil is great for moisturizing the skin and helps maintain a great softness to it as well.
Grapefruit oil is also another great moisturizer for the skin. It is more well-known for its wonderful scent though. A natural oil that has been around for what seems like eternity is
sunflower oil . Sunflower oil is also known as being a great moisturizer for the skin. It also helps a great protective barrier that resists infection. Due to late research findings on this great quality of sunflower oil, many mothers are using it as skincare for their infants.
Roman Chamomile has a number of skincare benefits as well. Although, it is more well-known as a regularly prescribed treatment in aromatherapy as a calming agent.

Argan Oil in Quebec

I just heard that Argan oil is found in most of the spas and salons in Quebec, Canada. There is a strong French influence in Quebec, which many of us know, and Morocco at one point, was a colony of France. Apparently, many of the French settlers brought this wonderful organic oil with them. Argan oil is used as a luxurious body treatment at a lot of the resorts. Known for its ability to protect the body from a lot of harmful environmental factors, it is heavily sought after as way to pamper your body in times of extreme cold weather. Many residents of Quebec incorporate this treatment into a massage using Argan oil and Jojoba oil . Both of these wonderful organic oils have many amazing skin care benefits, explaining why they are heavily sought after. Argan oil is also incorporated into a body mud mask .
It is very important that the right amount of Argan oil be used with the mud treatment, or the treatment is not as effective as it should be. Argan oil is considered to be a luxury natural oil , and that would explain why some places would be reluctant to use that much of this precious oil. I've never had one myself, but the next time I got to Quebec(which would be my first time) I will definitely have to treat myself to one of these professional full body make-overs.

It's Hard Making Argan oil

The traditional method of producing Argan oil, is a very long one indeed. It usually takes six to eight hours of hard work, to make one liter of Argan oil. To many of the Berber women, these long hours are worth it for this beauty miracle. New means of extracting this organic oil faster have been developed, but many women still like doing it the traditional way. To many of us Argan oil is just another natural oil to be used in high-end cosmetics . To a vast majority of these Berber women ,it is a way of life. I have actually heard of Berber women ,taking baths of Argan oil once a year, as a means rejuvenate and refresh their whole body, without missing a spot. Apparently, by bathing their whole body in this amazing oil, it make them a whole woman; body and spirit. This has been a long-standing Berber tradition for centuries. Due to the rise in demand for Argan oil , there are multitudes of European and American tourists that flock to these women co-ops now. The Berber women are delighted by the great attention Argan oil is getting, but in a sense they also feel invaded.
What they viewed as a centuries old tradition, is now being commercialized by all these huge cosmetic companies . It's good for their livelihood, but bad for the Argan tree. The constant need for Argan oil in Europe, is causing this great tree to disappear. The Argan tree has come under the protection of UNESCO , due to rapid decrease in numbers over the last decade. Hopefully, this will slow down what seems to be the rapidly approaching extinction of a tree, that has been around for millions of years.

Argan Tree Killers

There are a number of reasons that Argan oil is becoming rarer and rarer. One that I found, that I felt compelled to share with you, is dealing with the tree climbing goats of Morocco . These hungry argan fruit loving goats, can't get enough of this amazing fruit. The Berbers, were known to actually have people stand post, with an amply food supply for the goats, just to deter them from consuming the Argan fruit . There have been reports that these goats can scale to the top of an Argan tree in less than a minute. Apparently, since the argan tree is so rare and protected, they've got to get to the Argan fruit as soon as possible before being detected.
I believe that every creature has a right to consume what they enjoy, but do they have to choose the fruit that produces Argan oil- the rarest and most useful natural oil on the planet?
I've been to Morocco several times, but have never encountered one these tree-climbing goats. I will definitely make it a point on my next trip to Morocco . I'm an avid animal lover, but I really wish these goats would find something else to eat.

It's Just a Shame

Some of these cosmetic companies claim to have the best beauty products, but a majority of the time they are selling you a bunch of falsehoods. They'll say their skincare products will get rid of wrinkles in three to four weeks. They'll tell you their skincare products will turn back the age clock by ten to twenty years. They'll tell you their beauty products will make you feel eighteen again. They'll tell you that their best beauty products have been clinically tested and proven. Lies, lies, and more lies!
Let' s be honest with ourselves. A lot of these skin care companies that are making these claims, are selling you supposed beauty products with "toxic" chemicals in them . You might see some results within a couple weeks; at best your lines and wrinkles might be smoothed out. In the long run though by using some of these companies supposed" beauty products "you're doing more harm than good. In the long run, these skincare products will end up drying out your skin, and make your skin more chemically dependent on their
skincare products.
The best beauty products will tell you the facts. They won't tell you, what miracles you might want to hear, by using their skincare products , but instead what their products are really going to do for you. The best beauty products , I have seen, that actually do what they are going to say, are natural skin care lines.

It's About Time

I see the growth of Argan oil more and more everytime I turn around. I actually read an article by Bobbie Thomas, a style editor for NBC News, talking about how Argan oil is the new "cult ingredient." It is the new organic miracle for the US, and I believe it's going to be here to stay. I hope that most of these big cosmetic companies that eventually end up stepping in, don't pervert this wonderful organic oil. I would hate to see Argan oil assimilated into cosmetics and
beauty products , with artificial ingredients. Argan oil is a rare organic oil , that should be only used in natural beauty products. Anything less is a sin.
Later on in the year, I expect to see Argan oil in many natural beauty products . I see raw Argan oil being used for a number of therapeutic reasons as a means of alternative medicine.
W can only wait and see what 2008 brings for Argan oil .

Argan oil Worldwide

A friend of mine just got back from Malaysia, and I couldn't believe what she had with her. She had a small bottle that had "Anti-Aging Beauty Product " written on it, and you wouldn't believe what the supposed "secret" ingredient was; Argan oil. Apparently, she said it had been popular over there for a number of years, but not many people could afford the high prices associated with Argan oil. It was heavily sought after by the rich as the "new" thing in
natural beauty products. She had gone to China as well, and seen Argan oil used over there, as the main ingredient in high-end skin whitening creams. At first this didn't make sense to me, but then I realized that Argan oil offered a lot of UV protection due to its squalene component.
She also stopped off in Israel on her way back, and I was shocked to hear that Argan oil is widely used there. The raw Argan oil is used more for therapeutic reasons over there; for the treatment of eczema , psoriasis , acne , stress marks, and arthritis . Now some high-end Israeli cosmetic companies, are incorporating Argan oil into their beauty products , for its amazing anti-aging and skin-nourishing properties. A lot of Moroccans migrated to Israel about fifty years ago, so that could be the reason for Argan oil being so widely known over there. I predict it will be just as widely known here in the US, in the year of 2008.

The Amazing Power of Natural Oils

A lot of women are taught here in the US, that oils are bad for your skin at an early age. That is why when we think of beauty products, we tend to think of creams and lotions. A lot of women( and men) are starting to realize that this isn't the case. There are some oils in
natural skincare products that do take a while to absorb into your skin. These are usually found in massage oils and other body oils. A majority of facial oil skincare products, do not contain these types of oils. Who wants oils that just sit on the the surface of your face, slowly absorbing into your skin? Nobody.
Women in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Mediterranean have been using natural oils as a preferred means of skin treatment. Natural beauty products have been around since the beginning of time. When I see women in these parts of the world. I hardly ever see cases of dried out skin. When I look at some of the women in the US that use these supposed high-end cosmetics , it seems when they don't use the these artificial cosmetics, their skin is about to peel off. Like everything else in our society, it seems these products we see all around, us are catered to get a certain organ of our body addicted. Fastfood for our stomach, cigarettes for our lungs, and artificial cosmetics for our skin.
I personally believe that natural beauty products ,will dominate the market here in the near future. The trend of natural beauty products, that has been widespread in other parts of the world, is now making it over to this great country of ours. More and more of these
high-end cosmetic companies, are selling more natural beauty products everytime we turn around. They're finally starting to realize, what a prized commodity natural skin care really is.

Go with Natural Skincare

By using natural skin care products you will reduce the number of carcinogens (cancer-causing substances) that enter your body. Our largest organ, our skin, is very porous and absorbs many of the carcinogens found in bath and body products. It is believed that the less carcinogens you put into your body, the more you can decrease your chances of getting a number of chronic illnesses and diseases. Natural skin care products do not contain these.
The Cancer Society in Canada says that cancer now affects 1 in 2.6 women and 1 in 2.3 men. Numerous studies suggest that these rates are caused by the increasing number of carcinogens in food, products, and the environment. These scary stats should be enough to get everybody to start using natural skin care products.
To make sure you’re getting the best, purest ingredients into your body, take a few minutes to read the ingredients label of any product that you currently use. There’s a good chance you won’t know what most of the ingredients are, and you probably wouldn’t want to. 100%
natural skin care products don’t have any artificial chemical ingredients and are more safe and more effective than most mainstream products because they don’t contain synthetic ingredients which may be toxic to your system. Synthetic ingredients are less expensive to use and that is why they are used in most name-brand products. Many people believe that chemically-induced skincare products have better anti-aging properties. This is a complete falsehood. Women have been using natural skincare as a preferred means of anti-aging in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East for centuries, and some of those women have the most beautiful skin I've ever seen. It seems like America is finally catching onto what has been working for centuries, in other parts of the world.

Argan oil and Anti-Aging

Argan oil has extraordinary cosmetic and therapeutic properties. Preserve your skin's youth and vitality by providing it with the nourishment it requires using natural Argan oil. Your skin is constantly being deprived of the nutrients needed to maintain its necessary levels of collagen due to age and environmental stress. Argan oil is a natural solution to defend against premature aging and UV exposure. Argan oil is particularly effective against aging and cell degeneration, as well as dryness, skin inflammation, acne and scars. Argan oil contains exceptionally high levels of fatty acids including linoleic acid (omega-6) which ensure skin's repair and protective functions. Argan oil stimulates intracellular oxygenation, thus favoring restoration of the hydrolipid film by increasing nutrient levels in cutaneous cells and by providing essential moisture to the skin. The essential fatty acids fight against drying, smoothing out the skin, improving it's elasticity, and discouraging wrinkles to appear; it is the natural skincare anti-wrinkle treatment ‘par excellence.’ Your skin will become more supple, more toned and more resistant. It takes just a short period of time to get the skin looking satiny and radiant, giving it that youthful and healthy look.
By working directly on the reactivation of cells, Argan oil diminishes wrinkles and can even eliminate them! That is why Argan oil has been popular in Europe for years, and is now finally making its way here to the US. Stand back natural skincare companies, make way for Argan oil!

Buyer Beware

Argan oil is steadily growing in popularity here in the US. There are only a few note-worthy companies selling Argan oil, but I have to say I agree with a majority of their pricing on pure Argan oil and their Argan oil skin care products . One of our forum members actually brought up the fact that she had heard about some really inexpensive pure Argan oil . The last time I was in Morocco, the lowest price I saw for pure organic Argan oil was $40 for 250ml. The Argan oil came in what looked similar to a water bottle, and had a crude looking sticker that said " Pure Argan oil "on it. This was authentic Argan oil , that had been produced by the women's cooperative in that region. This Argan oil had not even gone through the deodorized process as well. So it makes me wonder about the quality, or the authenticity of the Argan oil , when I see such a low price attached to it.
Argan oil is the rarest, and the most useful organic oil you can find on the planet. The tree that produces this amazing oil is in danger of extinction. Anybody with a rational mind would come to the conclusion that such a prized commodity, would not have a low price tag attached to it. So the next time you find what you believe to be steal on Argan oil , whether it be in Morocco, Europe, or the internet; be wary because you might be the one getting robbed.

Finally

It's good to see a lot natural skin care products out there now. People are finally starting to get a little more health conscience, which is a good thing. I used to not pay attention to the things I ate or put on my skin, until my father got diagnosed with small-cell lung cancer less than a year ago. Watching the cancer eat away at a man who I considered to be the strongest, bravest man I ever knew, gave me a whole new perspective on life. After he passed away, that perspective broadened.
It's amazing to me that people don't notice the correlation between the rise of technology, and the rise of cancer. I'm not saying that technological advancements are not good. I'm saying that the more technology advances, the more means companies have at their disposal to add more steroids ( in cases of food ) and chemicals( in cased of food and skincare ), to get more out of what they produce. There's nothing wrong with going out to your favorite restaurant, and stopping off at your local hot dog stand occasionally; just don't make a habit of it.
When I hear about companies like Aveeno , that only sell natural skin care products, it brings a smile to my face. Even though Aveeno, may be considered a low-end natural natural skin care line; they were one of the first pioneers with the idea of going "natural" with their beauty products.
My mother is the one who actually enlightened me, to the wonderful world of natural skin care. At a very young age, she had used Argan oil as a part of her daily beauty regime. She had always shunned the chemically induced cosmetics, you would find in some of your high end salons around the world. She firmly believed at a young age natural skin care was the way to go, and now I see where she is coming from. I'm glad to see all the latest press coverage on the benefits of using Argan oil . It' about time this amazing organic oil found its way to North America. I'm excited to see how the US embraces Argan oil. I believe with all the amazing anti-aging and therapeutic properties Argan oil has, and the rise in popularity of
natural skin care , that 2008 is the year for Argan oil.

The Origins of Argan oil

Argan oil comes from the fruits of the Argan tree( Argania Spinoza), a species of tree exclusive to the calcareous semi-desert of southwestern Morocco. It is the sole species in the genus Argania. Argan oil can only grow for some reason in this region of Morocco. I've heard reports of unsuccessful attempts to grow it in Mexico and Israel. It is said that the Argan tree dates back 25,000,000 years, and it one point it reportedly covered most of North Africa. Only 8,600 square kilometers remain of this amazing tree, and it is declining at a rate of 500 square kilometers per year. Due to this alarming decline in the Argan tree , it is now considered endangered. The Argan tree has now come under the protection of UNESCO .
Argan oil has been used by the Berber women of Morocco for hundreds of years, for its cosmetic and therapeutic properties. In my past visits to Morocco( before I knew about Argan oil) I would see the women working in the markets, in some of the villages I would travel to. They would be toiling in the sun for untold hours, and I would barely see a wrinkle on their skin. I would meet with some of the reputed fortune-tellers of the villages(just for fun) who were said to be close to a hundred years-old, and I would not be able to detect many gray hairs at all. I found out later that many of these women used Argan oil as a part of their daily routine. Argan oil possesses many amazing properties, one of them being squalene(which is suggested to prevent skin cancer) that keep their skin and hair youthful. Argan oil is sold in some of these markets as a luxury item. Be wary when purchasing Argan oil in some of these markets. Unless you're buying from a women's cooperative, there is a good chance the Argan oil is diluted with other substances.

What's so special about Argan oil?

Argan oil is a rare and difficult oil to obtain. This wonderful organic skin care oil is found exculsively in southwestern Morocco. It has been used in skin care products in Europe for a number of years now, but is just now finding its way here to the US. Argan oil has been used by the Berber women in Morocco for hundreds of years for its cosmetic and therapeutic properties. It is perfect for preserving your skin's youth and vitality, and also for turning back the damage done over the years by environmental factors such as sunshine, pollution, stress, and smoke. I like to call Argan oil the anti-wrinkle treatment 'par excellence'. By working directly on the reactivation of cells, the Argan oil can diminish wrinkles and even eliminates them completely. Due to all its amazing properties, I would call Argan oil the natural solution for anti-aging skincare.
Raw Argan oil has numerous therapeutic applications. It is indicated as being particularly effective against rheumatism, arthritis, ezcema, and psoriasis, due to its anti-inflammatory agents. Ths is actually what brought Argan oil to my attention. My mother had been using Argan oil ever since she was eighteen for her skin, hair, and nails. My mother is a real "guru" of natural skin care. My sister had been dealing with a really bad case of eczema all over her hands for a number of years. My mother decided to try the Argan oil out on my sister's eczema, for she had heard of its application in the treatment of eczema, but had never used Argan oil herself for this reason. The results were amazing! Within the first week, my sister experienced better results from the use of the raw Argan oil ,than she had from months of using medication that had been prescribed to her by her doctor. The Argan oil also absorbed into her skin faster than the cream the doctor had instructed her to use.
With the application of Argan oil in natural skin care, to its application in the treatment in numerous different ailments; this is one of the best natural oils we could ever hope for. It is sad that the trees that produce this amazing organic oil are in danger of extinction. Certain measurements have been put into place to protect its survival, but who can say for sure how long it will be around.

It makes no sense to me

I'm surprised when I look around and see all these skincare products with chemicals on their labels that I've never even heard of. There's a strong possibility that I probably wouldn't want to know what these chemicals are. You probably wouldn't want to either. Our skin, which is our largest organ, is very porous and absorbs many of these chemicals easily. After doing some research I found that parabens(mehtyl, propyl, butyl, ehtyl) are found in almost all of the skincare products we see out there everyday. These chemicals can cause nasty rashes, and have been found in the breast tissue of cancer patients. It's no wonder that a lot of women are switching to natural skincare products. A lot of the fragrances you see out there, in the creams, lotions, and oils you apply on your face and body are synthetic. This synthetic fragrances are not regulated, not listed, and a lot of them are toxic. It's now wonder that cancer cases are on the rise. Things in the past that are forefathers didn't have to worry about, such as eating and skincare, have now become things that we have to take into account. So the next time you go out to purchase a skincare product, and don't recognize more than half of the chemicals written on there; take a step back and ponder if you're doing your body more harm than good.
